Zlatka Petreska

Psychologist and Gestalt Psychotherapist

Zlatka Petreska is a licensed psychologist and Gestalt psychotherapist with more than 20 years of professional experience working with people, organisations and complex systems. As a member of the NEOCORTEX team, she provides psychological counselling and psychotherapy for adolescents and adults, aimed at overcoming emotional and life challenges, improving relationships, supporting personal development and enhancing mental health.

In her work, she applies a Gestalt psychotherapy approach tailored to the needs, life circumstances and goals of each client. She is committed to creating a safe, confidential and supportive environment in which clients can openly explore their experiences, gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and patterns, and develop more functional ways of coping, communicating and making decisions.

In her practice, she works with anxiety, panic reactions, persistent worry and fears, depressive states, low mood, lack of motivation and emotional exhaustion. She also provides support in cases of loss, grief, life crises, stressful and traumatic experiences, changes in personal and professional life, and periods of increased uncertainty.

She also works with low self-esteem, negative self-image, perfectionism, self-criticism, feelings of guilt, difficulties in setting personal boundaries and challenges in emotional regulation. Her work also focuses on communication difficulties, partner, family and interpersonal relationships, recurring relational patterns, conflicts, and feelings of loneliness or alienation. She provides psychotherapeutic support for psychosomatic difficulties, sleep disturbances, chronic stress, occupational burnout and an impaired work–life balance. She also works with individuals facing identity-related questions, new roles and responsibilities, significant life decisions, as well as those seeking personal growth, greater self-awareness and a stronger connection with their own needs and resources.

A significant part of her professional experience is related to human resources and organisational development. She has experience in strategic management, talent development, employee well-being, organisational culture, and supporting managers and teams. This experience enables her to develop a deep understanding of the psychological challenges faced by employees, managers and leaders, including performance pressure, high levels of responsibility, workplace conflict, difficulties in setting boundaries and maintaining mental well-being in dynamic working environments.

She has extensive experience working with people from different age groups and professional backgrounds. She was an active member of the association Healthy Parenting – Skopje, where she participated in organising and facilitating workshops for parents of preschool- and school-aged children. She is the co-author of two manuals aimed at strengthening parenting skills, improving family communication and supporting child development.

She is currently working on a Master’s thesis focused on the mental health of individuals in leadership positions and its impact on employee satisfaction, the quality of interpersonal relationships and organisational functioning.

She holds a general licence to provide psychological services, issued by the Chamber of Psychologists of the Republic of North Macedonia.
